Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: June 15, 2026

Welcome to Handshake to Signal (the “Platform”). Handshake to Signal provides a grassroots communication infrastructure suite designed to bridge the gap between initial supporter interest and active team onboarding on behalf of authorized political campaigns (each, a “Campaign”). By opting into or interacting with our text messaging system, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Program Description

Handshake to Signal enables authorized political campaigns to communicate with supporters and volunteers via SMS. Messages are transactional and operational in nature, including volunteer onboarding steps, welcome messages, links to join internal team communication groups, and high-priority campaign field updates.

No messages will be sent to you by this system before you explicitly opt in. A campaign staff member may share a consent link with you (for example, via a personal text). When you visit that link and check the opt-in box on our consent page, you are providing your express written consent to receive text messages from the applicable Campaign through this Platform.

2. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your interactions with the designated Campaign. You may receive onboarding messages and operational updates from the campaign team at their discretion. You will never receive messages unrelated to the Campaign you opted into.

3. Cost (Message and Data Rates)

Handshake to Signal and its participating Campaigns do not charge for this text messaging service. However, message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier’s rate plan. These charges are billed by your wireless provider and are your responsibility. Please contact your mobile carrier for details on your texting plan.

4. How to Opt-Out

You have total control over the text messages you receive. You can cancel the SMS service at any time.

To stop receiving text messages from the Platform, text the word STOP to the number sending you messages. You may also text STOPALL, QUIT, END, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to opt out.

Upon opting out, the system will immediately stop all messages to your number and send you a single confirmation text to verify that you have been unsubscribed. After this confirmation, you will receive no further messages from that Campaign unless you choose to opt back in.

To re-subscribe after opting out, text START or UNSTOP to the same number. Standard opt-in consent requirements apply upon re-subscription.

5. How to Get Help or Support

If you need assistance or have questions about the messages you are receiving, you can get help in two ways:

  • Text HELP to the number sending you messages to receive support contact information directly by SMS.
  • Email our platform support team at [email protected].

6. Supported Carriers and Liability

The Platform is compatible with major US mobile carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. Neither the Platform nor the individual mobile carriers are liable for delayed, misdirected, or undelivered messages.

7. Privacy Policy

We value your operational security and personal privacy. All data collected through this text messaging platform is governed strictly by our Privacy Policy. We maintain an absolute prohibition on data sharing: your mobile information and text messaging opt-in data will never be shared, sold, rented, or leased to any third parties, affiliates, or other organizations for marketing or promotional purposes.
